Clinical Trials National Tribute & Award Ceremony

INTERNATIONAL CLINICAL TRIALS DAY 

 

This year, for the first time, Australian Clinical Trials Alliance (ACTA) and the Skin & Cancer Foundation Inc will celebrate International Clinical Trial Day together, on Monday 20 May. 

 

The collaborative ceremony will feature four different awards. ACTA will spotlight its Trial of the Year and ACTA STInG Excellence in Trial Statistics awards as well as introducing a new Award for Consumer Involvement. The Skin & Cancer Foundation will present the winner of its Excellence in Clinical Trials award for Outstanding Service, Clinical Trial Coordinator. 

 

Venue: Royal Children's Hospital, Ella Latham Auditorium.

 

Time: 8:00-10:00am

 

Price: FREE event 

 

Keynote speaker: Professor Anne Kelso AO

 

 

 

Professor Anne Kelso AO is the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). Following her PhD at the University of Melbourne, Professor Kelso undertook research in the field of immunology, first in Switzerland and then at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne and the Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Brisbane. From 2000 until 2006, she was also Director/CEO of the Cooperative Research Centre for Vaccine Technology. She then returned to Melbourne as Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza from 2007 until she took up her role with NHMRC in 2015. She is a member of several Government and international committees, including the Australian Medical Research Advisory Board advising the Minister for Health on the strategy and priorities for the Medical Research Future Fund.

EXCELLENCE IN CLINICAL TRIALS AWARD 2019 

 

The ACTA Trial of the Year awards nominations have closed, but nominations for the Skin & Cancer Foundation Award are open.   If you would like to nominate a Clinical Trial Coordinator who is recognised by their peers as an exemplary professional that goes above and beyond their role in the delivery of care to their patients, and demonstrates a commitment to the value and importance of clinical trials in improving health care, click here to download the form and nominate.  

 

The winner will receive a trophy and a complimentary ticket to this year’s SCRS Asia-Pac Site Solutions Summit, 16-17 July, valued at over $1000!  Additionally, thanks to our generous Prize Partner-ARCS, the lucky winner will also receive a free 3 day registration to the ARCS annual conference from 6-8 August at the ICC in Sydney! This prize is valued at $2,730.
